Birth - 5 year olds
Hillside House Nursery in Shropshire have two family run settings: Hook-A-Gate and Lyth Hill. Both nursery's offer a comprehensive and exciting curriculum for young children from birth to five years of age.
The nurseries are open for 51 weeks of the year and our operating times are Monday to Friday,
7:50am to 6.00pm.
In setting up Hillside House Nursery we have considered what we would want for our own children. We would all wish for our children to be happy, fit and healthy, confident and secure, sociable, kind and caring to others, independent with a clear sense of right and wrong, eager to learn and a big sense of fun.
Whilst in our care, the children have the opportunity to develop their social skills through play, meal times and learning together in our quality inside and outside environments. Children will move from one room to another according to their emotional and cognitive readiness and staff will support their transitions fully. Children are introduced to a full and diverse curriculum at every stage enabling them to be confident and eager learners with a readiness for school when the time comes.
The best way to find out what we can do for your child is to come and visit us. We will be delighted to welcome you. Please call the setting to arrange a visit!
It is our aim to provide a safe, homely and happy environment. The younger rooms aim to provide a healthy balance of child initiated play and learning with a variety of well planned, stimulating, fun activities in every session.
Children of this age have a wide range of different experiences and will have varied interests and skills. The environment will provide opportunities for children to express their feelings, opinions and knowledge, but also explore, experiment and gain new experiences.
Two terms before children's entry at school we introduce a 'home nursery' bag that incorporates a variety of learning that can be shared with you at home such as 'letters and sounds' activities, mathematics and in some cases- key word recognition and reading books.
